Manchester United legend Gary Neville hailed Arne Slot’s impact in his debut season at Liverpool.
Sky Sports football pundit Neville sees Slot’s contribution in making Liverpool win the Premier League this season as a great mark.
On Sunday, home side LFC outdid Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 to win their second PL and 20th English top-flight title.
Neville felt that Slot not getting his signings last summer did not help him. Despite this setback, the former PEC Zwolle manager has made the Reds win the PL title.
Liverpool were even closer to winning the EFL Cup, where they lost the final to Newcastle United 2-1 last month.
Neville told Sky Sports: “I think they deserve great congratulations. I think it’s one of the great coaching performances that we’ve seen – to come in from Jurgen Klopp, to not get the players he wanted in the transfer window, to have the shadow of the three, probably the best players in their positions in Europe, hanging over him all season, you’ve got to hand it to him.”
“It’s absolutely a brilliant achievement.”
Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool last season did impact the fans a lot. However, winning the season straight away is a massive positive for the Reds’ fanbase.
