Football pundit Karen Carney praised Cristiano Ronaldo for being so good at the highest level at 40.
It was Ronaldo, who added a goal in the second half against Spain in the Nations Legaue final on Sunday to take things ahead to penalties.
At the penalty shootout, Portugal won the battle 5-3 and became the first side to win the competition twice. Ronaldo turned 40 in February 2025. It means that by the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, he will be 41 years old.
But looking at his ability to score goals, the magical touch is still there.
Carney told ITV: “When you turn 30 everyone calls you old in football. This guy is 40 and he is constant defying us.”
For Ronaldo, the only major title left to win for the nation is the World Cup. And in 2026, it is possibly the last chance for him to add this title.
