According to several English media reports, Joao Pedro has a chance to play in the Champions Legaue next season. Newcastle United are possibly chasing the Brazil international’s signature.
Pedro became a Brighton & Hove Albion striker in 2023, leaving Watford after three decent seasons. He has scored 19 times in 58 PL appearances for Brighton.
Alexander Isak might stay at Newcastle or leave, but adding Pedro would help compete in the Champions Legaue. He is a PL-proven striker, which is always a bonus.
Pedro, who has made three appearances for Brazil, might use the UCL with the Magpies as a platform to become a part of their 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
Having played 27 times in the PL last season, Joao Pedro scored 10 goals and provided seven assists.
He is a modern number nine who creates chances and scores goals too.
Pedro is possibly not better than Isak, but he is a good backup option overall.
