Joao Pedro, who Chelsea signed from Brighton this summer, scored a brace and helped the Blues beat Fluminense FC 2-0 in the Club World Cup semis.
Chelsea paid approximately £55m, plus £5m on potential add-ons, to sign the Brazilian. Pedro’s move to Chelsea came behind signing another number nine in Liam Delap, who has also done well at the CWC.
The Blues have signed two strikers instead of one, and both have worked well for Chelsea.
They will face the winner of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the CWC final. Despite struggling in recent seasons overall, Chelsea are one step away from becoming the world champions (club).
Pedro’s arrival and scoring a brace in the semis have made Chelsea’s chances of doing well overall in the 2025-26 PL season.
