Caoimhin Kelleher’s aim of leaving Liverpool is possibly very near as the deal worth £18m overall seems to be completing soon (per BBC Sport).
Kelleher played as a backup to Alisson Becker in Liverpool’s 2024-25 Premier League-winning campaign. Kelleher is now planning to play regauler football at Brentford in the Premier Legaue.
Brentford’s target of Kelleher became hot by the end of the last season, as Mark Flekken is on his way to make a move to the Bundesliga’s Bayer Leverkusen.
Brentford have agreed to get £18m for Flekken. However, they have planned to give a £12.5m fee, but add-ons can take it to £18m.
Hence, there is no burden for Thomas Frank’s side to spend money on a new goalkeeper.
Caoimhin Kelleher made his LFC debut in the 2020-21 season. He is leaving the club after winning the Premier League title, which means a lot. Overall, he has appeared 25 times in the PL for the Reds.
