It is a well-known fact that Jose Mourinho always stays closer to controversies as a football manager. The former Manchester United boss is currently leading Fenerbahce.
However, Fenerbahce’s biggest rivals Galatasaray have taken a hard charge against Mourinho for “physically attacking” his counterpart Okan Buruk.
The incident occurred in the Turkish Cup, where both managers had a verbal disagreement in the mega derby. Right after the match finished at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, Mourinho and Buruk went to the middle of the stadium and started having conversations with match officials.
As per Fenerbahce’s allegations, Mourinho approached Buruk from behind and pinched his nose, making the Galatasaray boss fall to the ground.
Galatasaray’svice-president Metin Ozturk said: “Our manager Okan and Mourinho congratulated the referees. After that, while Okan was continuing, Mourinho first verbally and then physically attacked him.”
“Where else in the world can he do this? What does he think of Turkey?
“I believe that Fenerbahce’s management will impose the necessary sanction before the federation does.”
Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray beat Fenerbahce 2-1 in the Turkish Cup quarter-final tie.
After winning the game, Buruk did clear things about the strange incident.
He said: “There was nothing between me and Mourinho.”
