Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou clears the air around fans booing him. The 2024-25 season has turned nothing short of a nightmare for Postecoglou, having lost 16 of 30 matches, gaining just 34 points.
The Whites are 14th in the PL table, something that fans are not feeling well with. During Thursday’s 1-0 loss to London rivals Chelsea, Postecoglou received disapproval from the travelling fans.
The incident took place when Pape Sarr came from the bench to play, something fans did not like and showed disapproval. But then Sarr scored the goal, which was later disapproved.
Right after Sarr strikes the (disallowed) goal, Postecoglou celebrated directing his ears towards the Spurs fans.
Postecoglou was then asked if the abuse was just too much at Chelsea by his club’s fans. He said: “No, I am fine. I don’t get affected by that. I will continue fighting my whole career.”
He added: “I get that they [the fans] are frustrated and angry. At the same time, I understand the criticism towards me. But if anyone looked at the players and said they aren’t trying – then I am sorry they are not watching the right game.”
Spurs can finish outside the top 10 in the PL for the first time in 17 years. From a Champions League-playing side, they have become a mid-table team in the last few years.
