Former New Zealand captain Tim Southee hails the impact of Rachin Ravindra at the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Ravindra’s 108 against South Africa helped New Zealand to reach the final of the Champions Trophy.
Ravindra was not able to score big versus India last Sunday in the final Group A game but made India hail his class in the recently happened Test series.
With five centuries in 12 ODI matches, Southee feels that Ravindra is a talent to look for.
Southee said: “He’s still young, but he has a mature mindset. If Kane Williamson hadn’t been slightly unfit due to his knee injury during the One-Day World Cup last year, Ravindra might not have gotten his chance. But everything happens for a reason. He is always eager to learn, constantly seeking advice from experienced players like Williamson. For a young player, his willingness to improve stands out.”
Ravindra is a player who not only bats but makes it work with the ball too. He is one of the key players for New Zealand ahead of facing India in Dubai on Sunday.
