Chelsea would prefer to offer Manchester United £5m for not making Jadon Sancho’s deal permanent this season, as per Sun.
Sancho joined Chelsea last summer on a season-long loan, with the obligation to buy for £20m other than a £5m performance-related bonuses.
However, the Blues now do not wish to sign Sancho and are happy to pay a penalty of £5m to the Red Devils.
In 2021, Sancho’s transfer to Man United from Borussia Dortmund was seen as a game-changer. However, he has lost his magical touch since joining the 13-time Premier League winners in 2021.
Having appeared 25 times in the English top flight this season, the 25-year-old winger has scored just two goals.
Sancho made his debut for England in 2018 and retired in 2021, with just three goals in 23 games. But even this move has not helped him become better overall in club football.
Sancho’s 58 PL apps for Man United saw him score just nine goals.
