Glenn Maxwell, who is a high-profile all-arounder of the Punjab Kings, faces a 25% match fee fine for breaking the code of conduct against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday (8 April 2025).
He did break the IPL’s, code of conduct, Article 2.2 rule. This rule takes action against fixtures and fittings abuse.
It comes under Level 1 offence. The IPL officials made the statement and said Maxwell did accept the mistake and the Match Referee’s sanction.
The IPL’s protocol clears that Level 1 breaches can’t be written off.
There is no confirmation about what was the exact offence. However, Article 2.2 includes anything that impacts the infrastructure of a venue.
Maxwell facing a fine possibly would have not impacted him to the core as Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs at home.
PBKS are looking in sound touch, with three wins and just one defeat in the opening four matches.
