World-famous commentator and analyst Akash Chopra thinks Karun Nair has found the magical touch to take him back to the top level again.
89 runs in just 40 balls helped the impact player of the Delhi Capitals to make a comeback against the Mumbai Indians.
If it had not been Mitchell Santner taking his wicket, Delhi could have won the game on Sunday and not lost by 12 runs.
Chopra feels that the Indian international (Karun) did take on Jasprit Bumrah well. This means that he has found the golden touch again.
It is also crucial to note that it was Karun’s first IPL game since the 2022 season.
Aakash Chopra, on his YouTube channel, praised the comeback hero.
“Karun Nair is back. If you take Bumrah down, that means you are back. Nothing can be better than that. Mumbai won, but the biggest story is Karun Nair. He had tweeted in 2022 – ‘Dear cricket, give me one more chance.’ You don’t get a second chance just like that. However, cricket said it would test him but eventually give him something. He got dropped by Karnataka and had almost left cricket. However, he shifted to Vidarbha. He didn’t score runs in the first year, but this year, he scored nine centuries across three formats,” said Aakash Chopra.
Leaving Karun, there was nothing too special about Delhi against the Mumbai Indians with both bat and bowl.
Despite getting the first defeat of the IPL 2025, Delhi’s comeback has given them a mega boost.
