South Africa cricket legend Mark Boucher feels that Rohit Sharma is ready to play a season-changing role in the remaining campaign of the Mumbai Indians in the 2025 Indian Premier League.
Rohit came as an impact player in MI’s 163 chase against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. India’s Test and ODI captain scored a crucial 26 off 16 balls.
Rohit played fast and helped the MI chase the total in just 19 overs.
Boucher told JioStar: “Rohit Sharma took it upon himself to go after the bowlers. We saw some good old-fashioned Rohit Sharma sixes – big ones too. I liked his attitude. He put the bowlers under pressure and created scoring opportunities. He was just past the 30-mark – a big score is coming very soon. He’s looking in that zone again.”
MI’s third victory in the IPL 2025 came because Will Jacks took two wickets against SRH and scored 36 off 26 balls.
Having beaten the Delhi Capitals on Sunday, the recent victory over the SRH has given MI a much-needed boost.
