The Gunners will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the UCL semi-finals, with the first leg taking place in North London on 29 April.
Arsenal, who have never won the European Major in their rich history, are three good games away from creating history.
Saka, after missing the penalty, saved Arsenal with a second-half goal.
After leading the Gunners to the semis, head coach Mikel Arteta said: “One of the best nights in my football career.”
“We played against a team with the biggest history. It has been an inspiration for all of us on this competition.
“The history we have in this competition is so short. The third time in our history of what we have just done and we have to build on that.
“And now we have to continue to do that because I think we have some momentum now.”
In 2006, Arsenal did reach the UCL final. But they lost to Barcelona 2-1.
