Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the final in the 16th minute and helped his team win the game at Wembley Stadium.

For a club founded in 1861, not winning any major silverware up until 2025 means a lot. In 1990 and 2016, they reached the FA Cup final but lost to Manchester United both times.
And in the club’s deep history, they have never reached the League Cup final. Hence, this massive victory is something out of this world for the fans of Crystal Palace as they have seen the wait of 164 years.
However, for Man City, it has turned out to be a poor season for not winning anything. Looking at the recent history, it is shocking to even non-Man City supporters.
The Palace manager said: “As football players and managers, the biggest success is not lifting the trophy. It’s giving tens of thousands of our fans a moment for their life. Giving them great times.”
Oliver Glasner joined the London club in 2024, and in his first full season in charge, Crystal Palace won a major silverware. It also means that the Eagles will play in the Europa Legaue next season.
