Fenerbahce fired back at Galatasaray for spreading fallacy over Jose Mourinho bullying Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk.
On Wednesday night, in the Turkish Cup tie, Mourinho and Buruk were talking to officials after the game ended.
The former Manchester United boss was seen pinching Buruk’s nose from behind, making the Galatasaray manager fall to the ground and put hands on his face.
Galatasaray then said that Jose was “physically attacking” their manager.
Fenerbahce did revert to this allegation and said: “This was a planned provocation [by Buruk] and as part of this plan the individual acted as if he had been ‘shot’ and fell to the ground in a professional manner, and his disrespectful words and actions are documented on video.”
The incident has made this firing derby hotter when the next time these mega Turkish clubs would face.
