Gautam Gambhir, who is the head coach of India, wants Pitch Curator Josh Marden in England to make a good surface. India will play a five-match Test series against hosts England, with the first Test starting on June 20 at Headingley.
This is a very unique Test series. India will be playing without star players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, as they retired from red-ball cricket during the Indian Premier League 2025.
Hence, Shubman Gill became India’s Test captain. He has replaced Rohit, who did not great time as a Test player last year.
Marden said: “We want a good pitch.” The request has been put up by the Indian head coach.
It has become a crucial series for Gambhir as he is yet to make an impact as a head coach with India.
