The Mumbai Indians gave home side Delhi Capitals their first-ever Indian Premier League 2025 team by 12 runs on Sunday.
However, it was a dream match for Karun Nair who added a massive 89 (runs) in 40 balls. However, his team lost the game by 12 runs.
But Nair’s contribution helped Delhi to not lose by a huge margin and save the overall net run rate.
The 33-year-old batsman played his first game in the IPL since 2022. It was the match where he came as an impact player.
This has made his chances to start for the Dehli Capitals in Wednesday’s game against the Rajasthan Royals (visitors) very well.
Nair feels that individual performances do not matter if the team does not win the game.
“See, there’s no benefits in talking about that. I did play well, but my team lost the match, so it really doesn’t matter. There’s no value for me of such innings if my team can’t win,” Karun said in the press conference.
Karun Nair’s comeback at the domestic level in the last two to three years has made him one the most talked about players to make an IPL and Team India comeback.
