Matheus Cunha might be wearing the Manchester United jersey soon, as Sky Sports reports are suggesting that the Wolverhampton Wanderers star’s £62.5m release clause could be triggered.
The Brazil international has a productive 2024-25 Premier League season, with 15 goals and six assists in 31 outings.
As United are desperate to add a number nine, Cunha is one of the players they are targeting this summer.
In two FA (2024-25) games played, Cunha contributed two goals. It is better than his last PL season, where he added 12 goals in 32 games.
Having scored 10-plus goals in consecutive PL seasons, Cunha has shown signs of operating at the highest levels.
Most Brazilian players have not managed to click well at Man United, who are hours away from facing Spurs in the Europa League final in Bilbao, Spain.
Cunha can create chances, with 13 assists in his overall 80 PL appearances. This makes him a better package overall for the Red Devils, who are hoping for a better 2025-26 season.
