For the first time in limited-overs cricket, India are set to face New Zealand in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Both sides made it to the semis from Group A, with India being the leaders and New Zealand as proxime accessit.
India beat Australia by four wickets on Tuesday and New Zealand outdid South Africa by 50 runs on Wednesday.
Last Sunday, India beat New Zealand by 44 runs at the Dubai International Stadium, where the final would occur.
This has made the upcoming final even better. It is indeed the first time both sides have faced a limited-overs ICC final.
However, in the Test, they met at the 2021 ICC World Test Championship Final, where New Zealand beat India.
India have won all of their four matches at the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, New Zealand’s only loss have come against India in the final Group A match.
This would be the first-ever New Zeland’s win at an ICC event in limited overs if they massage to beat India in the final on Sunday.
