Maja Stark of Sweden has achieved a great landmark by winning the 2025 US Women’s Open.
She is the first golfer from Sweden to lift the prestigious title at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.
Stark outdid Nelly Korda and Rio Tanaka to win this trophy. She had won six European and two LPGA tours before winning her first major.

She said: “This just feels huge.”
“You always know that it’s possible, but there are so many good golfers on this tour. I [didn’t] think I would be able to do it this week.”’
Stark not just won a crucial title, but also defeated world number one Korda in the process. She was not even a favourite to win the US Women’s Open 2025. Hence, it comes as a bigger surprise to the golf stakeholders worldwide.
