Lamine Yamal is a teenage star at Barcelona. He has done a very young age is something incredible. At the same level, Lionel Messi presented some magical skills in the mid-2000s.
Hence, several Barca fans have been comparing Yamal to the club’s greatest ever footballer, Messi.
Yamal, 17, made his debut for FCB in 2023. He has already appeared 68 times in La Liga and scored 11 goals.
Last year, Yamal was a key element in Spain winning the 2024 Euro. He has already appeared 17 times for Spain, scoring four goals.
Yamal told BBC Sport: “I don’t compare myself to him (Messi), because I don’t compare myself to anyone – and much less with Messi,” Yamal told reporters, while also describing the Argentine as “the best player in history”.
Yamal is enjoying a dream ride, scoring 14 goals and 24 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona. These stats are much better than many established wingers in Europe.
His current deal expires next summer. However, the Spain international has shown no signs of leaving the mega football club.
He did win the Copa del Rey last week for FCB and can make the club win the Champions League and La Liga. Winning a treble at a very young age can really work out to make profile even better.
