AB de Villiers, who is one of the best cricketers ever, feels that he was overpaid during his time in the Indian Premier Legaue.
The retired batsman played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2011 to 2021. His first IPL team was the Delhi Daredevils, playing from 2008 to 2010.
De Villiers played for RCB for over 10 years. However, he did not help the franchise win the title during his time.
Abhinav Mukund, who is a cricket pundit now, said: “I was sitting next to AB de Villiers and he told me something that I don’t think any legend in the IPL has said. But he genuinely meant it; he said it from a place of emotion. He said, ‘I was overpaid’.”
RCB retrained ABD twice for Rs 7.50 crore in 2014 and then and Rs 11 crore in 2018.
AB de Villiers’ massive statement shows how much he values cricket and winning for the team above getting good sums.
