Vangelis Pavlidis is one of the most demand players in European football. Now Chelsea have joined Newcastle United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in a race to sign Pavlidis, as per Record.
The Benfica striker has scored 24 times in 46 matches in all competitions this season, reportedly costing clubs 100m euros (£85m).
Pavlidis made a move to Benfica last summer from Alkmaar Zaanstreek. For Greece, he made his debut in 2019. The 26-year-striker has scored eight times in 46 apps on Ivan Jovanovic’s side.
Pavlidis’ deal with the Portuguese giants lasting until 2029 summer has given them an extra edge to sell the striker at a very lucrative amount.
Chelsea are desperate to add a quality striker to reduce the pressure from forward Cole Palmer, who is having another good season with the Blues. In 30 PL apps, Palmer has scored 14 goals and seven assists for Chelsea.
