Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta, feels that it is special for them to be in the Champions Legaue semi-finals.
The Gunners are all set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals. The opening match of the last-four tie is taking place at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal reached the UCL semis after beating Real Madrid 5-1 in the Champions Legaue last-8. In Arsenal’s great history in football, they have never managed to become the European champions.
Even with the PSG, they are also looking to become the European champions for the first time. Back in 2020, they reached the UCL semis but failed to make an impact against FC Bayern Munich.
Arteta said: “We are making history. It’s a beautiful story right now – but we want much more.”
Arsenal have become the English champions 13 times. They are only behind Manchester United and Liverpool with 20 titles each.
Despite such consistency over the last 100-plus years, they have not managed to make a sound impact in terms of becoming the European champions.
