Everton are in talks with Freiburg’s representatives for signing Merlin Rohl in the 2025 summer transfer market, as per Kicker.
Rohl, who plays as a central midfielder, has appeared 16 times in the Bundesliga for the German side this season.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Freiburg from FC Ingolstadt 04 in 2022. He has experience of playing for Germany’s U18, 19, 20 and sides.
Rohl is a 6 feet and 3 inches tall player, making him an ideal pick for Everton manager David Moyes, who re-joined the club in Jan 2025.
The 15-place Everton, with 35 points in 31 PL games, are out of the relegation battle. However, the Toffees might be looking to make a side that Moyes wishes to have. This can indicate a massive summer ahead.
