Australia cricket legend Adam Gilchrist sent a message to Jake Fraser-McGurk ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 season.
Gilchrist thinks Fraser-McGurk should hit the ground running from the first IPL match. Otherwise, it does not take a lot of time to become a bench warmer in this tournament.
Fraser-McGurk came as a replacement for one of Delhi Capitals’ injured players last season, scoring 330 runs in nine innings.
In the auction for the IPL 2025, the ‘Right to Match’ feature allowed DC to pay Rs 9 crores to get the Australian international.
However, his form has taken a massive hit in the last year. The 22-year-old batsman has scored 382 runs in the last 24 matches.
Hence, Gilchrist told Fox Cricket: “(Delhi) have shown great faith in keeping him at the franchise. It’s important he starts well. What I do know of the IPL typically is that franchises and owners and coaches, don’t tolerate a lack of results for too long.”
Delhi Capitals will face Lucknow Super Giants on March 24 (Monday) at ACA International Cricket Stadium – Visakhapatnam.
