Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh hailed MS Dhoni’s “Baahubali” approach in Monday’s five-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants.
Dhoni played a match-winning unbeaten run 26 runs in 11 balls and made CSK collect two crucial points. Despite they still have just two wins to five losses, the victory has helped them to save the season as they can still look to qualify for the playoffs.
Dhoni took over as the CSK captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out for the remainder of the IPL season due to an injury last week.
After a horrible defeat against the Kolkata Knight Riders last week, Dhoni made sure that the team played well with bat and bowl in Lucknow.
Harbhajan, who was a part of CSK once, said on his YouTube channel: “MS Dhoni is Baahubali. We say this because he knows what to do. He came to bat at the right place and at the right time, putting the pressure back on Lucknow. When Dhoni takes the captaincy role, he is completely different. The team under him plays differently.”
CSK will next face the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
