Yashasvi Jaiswal has made sure to part ways with Mumbai for Goa, taking a crucial step in his domestic cricket journey. This move was something that many did not expect to happen.
As per some media reports, Jaiswal sent an email to the Mumbai Cricket Association on Tuesday to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
An internal source to an Indian sports media outlet told Jaiswal’s reason behind leaving the MCA.
The source said: “In his email, he stated that he is moving to Goa for personal reasons.”
Goa Cricket Association confirms the move. GCA secretary Shamba Naik Dessai said: “We have spoken to him (Jaiswal), and he will play for Goa in the coming season. The paperwork is yet to be completed, but we have agreed to bring him on board for next season.”
He added: “There’s still time. Once he signs, we will discuss internally and decide on that.”
This move to leave MCA came as a shocker. Because Goa has just managed to make a space in the Elite Group. Recently, they have played in the Plate Division.
Jaiswal is not the only player to leave the MCA for Goa. In fact, Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad did move to Goa first before making a comeback to Mumbai.
In Jan 2025, Jaiswal was part of Mumbai when they faced Jammu and Kashmir. However, he did not play against Vidarbha in the semis due to facing an ankle injury.
