Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant felt that his side scored 20 to 25 runs less against Punjab Kings, who won the toss on Tuesday and chose to bowl first.
Punjab did not allow the home side, Lucknow, to score big. As a result, they got a target of 172 runs. Shreyas Iyer and the team chased the total in just 16.2 overs.
Iyer, Prabhsimran Singh and Nehal Wadhera contributed for Punjab by scoring individual half-centuries, leading the team to win the game by eight wickets.
Pant, who flopped for the third consecutive time for LSG in the IPL 2025, was able to score just two runs against Punjab.
He said after losing the game: “Definitely [our total] wasn’t enough, we were like 20-25 runs short but that’s part and parcel of the game.”
It means LSG have now added just two points from the first three IPL 2025 games, having lost two.
However, Punjab Kings have carried their good form. They have collected four points from opening two games, winning both.
