Jalen Brunson contributed 39 points in a crucial game for the New York Knicks against the Boston Celtics, winning the match 121-113 in the NBA playoffs.
The Celtics, who are the 2024 champions, are on the verge of getting knocked out of the competition. The Knicks made a strong comeback after trailing behind 14 points after the third quarter in the Eastern Conference semi-final.
Brunson’s side need just one win to make it to the next stage in the best-of-seven series. Jayson Tatum was looking strong for the defending champions, blasting 42 points before facing a lower-body injury in the fourth quarter.
Tatum, who is a six-time All-Star, will have the scan to see the impact of the injury.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said: “He’ll get the MRI and we’ll see what it is.”
“Obviously you’re always concerned about someone’s health. It’s two-fold, we’re concerned about his health and where’s he’s at. And then we’re concerned what we’ve got to do better in game five.”
On Thursday, the Knicks need to win the game against the Celtics to qualify for the next stage. And Mazzulla’s side not having Tatum might not be worth that well for them.
