Ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League season, Virat Kohli names Jasprit Bumrah as the toughest bowler in his professional cricket career.
Both Kohli and Bumrah play for India, so other than nets, the IPL sets the stage for these two mega-player battles against each other.
In the late 2010s, Kohli took the name of former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir as the toughest bowler in his career on several occasions.
The 31-year-old bowler is being seen as one of the best fast bowlers of all time, known for his great yorkers.
These two great players met for the first time in the 2013 IPL, where Bumrah took Virat’s wicket as his first one in the competition.
It was a game when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) did host the Mumbai Indians.
From that moment, Bumrah has taken his career to the next level. He is still very hard for any batsman to pick.
“No doubt about the fact that Jasprit (Bumrah) is the best bowler in the world, all the formats. He’s gotten me out a few times in the IPL,” Virat Kohli said.
In the IPL, Kohli and Bumrah have faced each other 16 times. The star batsman has added 140 runs against Bumrah. However, Bumrah has taken the wicket of the star player five times.
