Viktor Gyokeres has become a key striker in the 2025 summer transfer window market, with the latest reports indicating the Swedish international making a move to Manchester United.
Gyokeres’ team has said that there is a gentleman’s agreement with Sporting, which allows him to leave if a club pays £59m in transfer fee.
However, Sporting director president Frederico Varandas has said that there is no such agreement. It means Man United have to pay way over £59m for getting the striker.
Varandas said to a media outlet: “I can guarantee that Viktor Gyokeres will not leave for 60m euros plus 10m euros because I never promised that.”
United are in desprate need to add a striker before the 2025-26 season. With Gyokeres has shown interest in joining the Red Devils, the club might have to sell some players for generating the revenue. It can make the potential signing coming late in the summer transfer market, which is something no club likes.
Gyokeres is a striker who might help United get a stability in the final third, making even the fans on social media excited for his poentail arrival.
