An update from CaughtOffside suggests that Manchester United are leading the race to sign midfielder Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old midfielder is on the radar of Italian club Juventus too. Wharton plays as a holding midfielder, a position where the Reds Devils need strength after seeing a lack of better performances from Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
Man United are struggling under the new head coach Ruben Felipe Marques Amorim, standing 15th on the PL table, with 29 points in 25 games.
For the first time in PL history, Man United are in the relegation battle.
Wharton made his PL debut last season for Crystal Palace, where he appeared 16 times. He joined Palace from Blackburn in the winter transfer market of 2024.
In 2024, he signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the London side.
The deal is in the early stages and even the price tag of the young English midfielder is not clear yet.
