At a charity event, former West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp called England head coach Thomas Tuchel “a German spy”.
He even made a Nazi salute. In January 2025, Tuchel became the head coach of England. The German manager recently led the Three Lions to win games against Albania and Latvia.
Redknapp spoke about the former Chelsea boss before he made England win two World Cup qualifying games.
The Guardian did publish this video clip first.
Redknapp said: “I’ll be honest with you, I think he’s a German spy. I’m telling you.”
He added: “Seriously, he’s been sent over to [expletive] us up. He has. I’m telling ya, he’s like Lord Haw Haw in the war – ‘We have your best soldiers captured’ and all that.”
On social media, people did not like Redknapp’s comments on Tuchel, who is the third foreign permanent England head coach.
Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson and Italian Fabio Capello were the first two foreign coaches of the Three Lions.
