Ferrari’s new star race driver Lewis Hamilton feels that Ferrari have to do a lot of work to make sure they can top Red Bull and Marcedes.
Formula 1 legend Hamilton joined Ferrari in 2025. In the pre season testing in Qatar, Marcedes and Red Bull drivers did win the races. And Hamilton did not able to do much with Ferrari.
On pre season training’s final day, George Russell did beat Max Verstappen by 0.021 seconds. Meanwhile, Hamilton finished sixth, and he was 0.8 seconds behind his former teammate Russell of Marcedes.
He said: “(McLaren) won the constructors’ (title) last year. We expect them to be one of the quickest if not the quickest. As with Red Bull, they dominated for many years. We’ve definitely got some work to do to improve.”
From 2014 to 2020, Hamilton won six of seven race seasons with Marcedes. But from 2021 to 2024, he saw Max Verstappen winning the following four seasons. This made Marcedes and Hamilton part ways in 2025.
Hamilton sees signs of growth in Ferrari, feeling it can bring some positive outcomes.
The opening race of the 2025 F1 season will take place at Australian Grand Prix from 14 to 16 March.
