Liverpool’s search for a new striker means this can be the last season of Luis Diaz for Arne Slot’s side. The Colombian international joined the Reds in the middle of the 2021-22 season.
The 28-year-old forward came as a replacement for Sadio Mane. However, Diaz has not been able to make a stable impact.
In 92 Premier League games, the former FC Porto forward has scored 25 goals and 12 assists.
The numbers are not too low, but they are not to the levels that Liverpool fans have had seen from Mane and Mohamed Salah for the same positions.
With Arne Slot looking for a complete forward, Liverpool would offload striker Darwin Nunez this summer (per various news reports).
Diaz selling means Liverpool are looking to get good sums to sign a high-profile striker.
In the first season of the head coach Slot at Liverpool, the 19-time English champions are leaders of the PL table with 61 points in 26 games.
In this season, Diaz has shown good form scoring nine times in 25 matches.
