Pakistan cricket legend Shahid Afridi sees India having more match winners than the hosts ahead of the mega contest.
India refused to go to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy for security and geo-political reasons; hence, Pakistan vs India will take place at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This would be the first since the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup when the mega cricket sides would battle against each other.
Early in the week, India won the opening game of the contest against Bangladesh by 6 wickets.
Meanwhile, the hosts saw the opening match defeat as New Zealand beat them by 60 runs in the opening game of the mega 50-over format contest.
India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh are in Group A.
It means that only the top two teams would qualify for the semi-finals. In a way, it has become a must-win game for Pakistan on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, Afridi feels that India’s match-winning ability gives them the edge over Pakistan.
He said: “If we talk about match-winners, I’d say that India has more match-winners compared to Pakistan.”
In 2017, Pakistan beat India in the Champions Trophy final. It was the last time when the event took place before the ongoing one.
The much-anticipated game will take place at 2.30 PM IST.
