Seth Rollins; the WWE superstar, wants to face CM Punk in an MMA ring. Rollins is known for having a great battle in the WWE with legend CM Punk, who was once a part of the UFC.
CM Punk did make his UFC debut on September 10, 2016, where he lost to Mickey Gall (UFC 203).
Despite having a bad performance, UFC president Dana White gave another chance to CM Punk against Mike Jackson at UFC 225 (June 9, 2018). However, it was also not a sound performance.
It made White angry, using harsh criticism over CM Punk’s approach in MMA.
However, now WWE and UFC are a part of one organisation. Hence, it is possible that a non-MMA fighter can battle against another non-MMA fighter.
Rollins said on Robert Griffin III’s podcast: “Sure, yeah, I would [fight CM Punk].”
“I’m not going to just bust into his locker room backstage and just start lighting him up but if Dana White wanted to book CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, like first non-UFC fighter [Vs] non-UFC fighter fight on one of his cards, I’d put on the gloves and give it a go.”
In the history of the UFC, such fights have not taken place yet. However, Rollins fighting CM Punk can boost overall pay-per-view numbers as they are global superstars (thanks to the WWE)
