Tottenham Hotspur are not interested in paying £8.5m to buy German striker Timo Werner.
The Mirror has reported that Spurs would let the striker leave the club after the end of this season. It means the former Chelsea striker would see his options ahead after rejoining the German side.
Werner made a move to Spurs last season in the winter transfer market. The North London club then added another year on his loan move, making him stay at the club for the 2024-25 season.
However, he has scored just one goal in 27 apps for Tottenham this season. In 2020, Chelsea signed Werner from RB Leipzig. However, his move to the mega London side did not work.
Once known as one of the best strikers in the world, the 28-year-old striker is seeing one of the worst periods of his career as a professional footballer.
In 57 outings for Germany, he scored 24 goals from 2017 to 2023. Despite retiring from national duty, he is not looking well to find the form of his pre-covid days.
