It was another iconic display between Barcelona and Inter Milan in the Champions League semis. The first leg between two of the biggest European sides ended as a 3-3 draw on Wednesday.
At Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, it was a match where some UCL records were broken. Barcelona, who approached this game after winning the Copa del Rey title last weekend, faced the fastest goal in the Champions Legaue history as Inter’s Marcus Thuram scored the opener in 30 seconds.
Dutch international Denzel Dumfries scored and made the lead 2-0 in the 21minute. But Lamine Yamal yet again presented his class by scoring a wonder goal.
The 17-year-old winger dribbled past Inter defenders to uplift the home fans. In the 38th minute, Ferran Torres powered back Baca to a 2-2 scoreline.
In the second half, Denzel Dumfries completed his brace (63’) and put things ahead, with a 3-2 advantage. However, an own goal by Yann Sommer made the contest 3-3.
So, after the end of the opening leg, it is not clear who is going to the UCL final between FCB and Inter.
The away leg will take place at San Siro on the 6th of May, 2025.
Meanwhile, Yamal has become the youngest player to score a goal in the UCL semi-finals.
