Punjab Kings beat Gujarat Titans by 11 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday (Mar 25) without Glenn Maxwell contributing well with the bat.
Maxwell went out without scoring even a single run. It was, in fact, a golden duck. However, the replay did show that the ball was missing the stumps. It means a review taken would have helped Maxwell not losing his wicket.
Punjab Kings did score 243 runs, losing just five wickets in 20 overs. However, such mistakes could have impacted the overall result as Gujarat Titans came very close to winning the game.
Maxwell, who is a sensational player for Australia, has failed a host of times in the IPL for different teams.
Even somebody posted the incident on X and shared how the ball was missing the stumps.

Punjab Kings did get backing from Shreyas Iyer (97* runs) and Shashank Singh (44* in 16 balls). Otherwise, they would have lost their first game of the IPL 2025 season.
While head coach Ricky Ponting did show his disappointment at the dugout, commentator Aakash Chopra said: “The big show turns into no show.”
This is not the first time Maxwell got out without scoring a run. In the IPL history, he has the most number of ducks (19).
As Maxwell is a crucial player for Punjab, such performances in coming matches can impact the team overall.
