Former India fast bowler Varun Aaron wants more domestic Indian cricketers to shine in the Indian Premier League 2025 like Vipraj Nigam.
Against home side Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday, Nigam took two wickets for 18 runs in four wickets.
As a result, he contributed to the Delhi Capitals to stop RCB in 163 runs. Delhi then chased the target of 164 runs in just 17.5 overs to maintain their unbeaten run in the IPL 2025.
Nigam did the runout of Phil Salt (37 runs in 17 balls) too. He took the wickets of Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya.
In four games played this season, Nigam has taken five wickets.
Aaron felt happy with Nigam’s overall performance and said on JioHotsar: “Vipraj was brilliant tonight, he’s a great find for Delhi Capitals. He’s contributed both with the ball and, as we’ve seen, can be destructive with the bat too. Going forward, he’s great value for the investment Delhi Capitals made in him. We need more domestic players like him to step up in the TATA IPL and help take their teams over the line.”
Meanwhile, Delhi sit in the second spot of the IPL table with eight points in four matches.
Even the table-toppers Gujarat Titans have collected the number of points. However, GT’s run rate is better than DC’s. Not to forget that Gujarat have played one more game than Delhi, with four wins and one defeat.
Meanwhile, DC are the only unbeaten side in the IPL 2025.
