Cristian Romero is the latest player that Atletico Madrid can sign this summer, as per Sky Sports.
Romero, who plays at Tottenham Hotspur, was a part of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup-winning campaign.
The 26-year-old centre-back joined Spurs from Atalanta permanently in 2022. However, he did spend a season-long loan at Spurs in the 2021-22 season before making the deal permanent.
He has appeared 96 times for the Whites in the Premier League, keeping 20 clean sheets. However, the fans in North London feel that Romero has not delivered Spurs as best as he has done or does for his national team.
The former Genoa defender made his debut for the Argentina National Football Team in 2021. He was also a part of Argentina’s U20 side in 2017.
In 2021 and 202, he played a role in Argentina’s Copa America winning campaigns.
