Digvesh Rathi, who took the wicket of set batsman Naman Dhir of the Mumbai Indians on Friday for the Lucknow Super Giants, has been fined INR 50 lakhs for his misconduct.
Lucknow won the game by 12 runs, but Rathi had to pay a huge cost for his trademark celebration.
There were two more demerit points added to the telly – making the overall count three.
He took Naman’s wicket in the ninth over, while MI were chasing 204 runs, and gave a sent-off to the batsman.
For the same reason, he was fined in the previous game beofre facing MI against the Punjab Kings. The young Indian bowler was then fined INR 12 lakh.
Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram did score half-centries, as LSG scored 203/8 in 20 overs.
MI did try to come close to winning but lost the game by 12 runs. As LSG are short bowlers, Digvesh’s approach does seem good for Rishabh Pant’s side.
