Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming thinks that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s comeback in the Indian Premier League 2024 is something they can see as a hope to make it to the playoffs.
Last year, RCB won their last six regular matches and opened doors to the playoffs. CSK, who are hours away from facing the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, have won just twice in the eight IPL matches.
Hence, they are standing 10th (bottom) in the table. With six games left before the playoffs, Fleming feels that a comeback is still possible for the five-time IPL champions.
He said: “We are confident of winning all the remaining 6 matches and entering the playoffs. RCB did it last year and showed that. That is our inspiration. We still have a chance to reach the playoffs.”
CSK versus SRH is a game to look for as even Hyderabad have lost six of their opening eight matches. This means that a defeat can be season-ending.
