India head coach Gautam Gambhir hails all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
India will battle against New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final on Sunday.
India are going to the final undefeated. Meanwhile, New Zealand have won three of the four matches at the very event. The only defeat has come against India last Sunday in the final group-stage game.
Speaking ahead of the final, Gambhir said: “I’ve always felt that he’s always gone under the radar. I think he’s someone we don’t speak highly about. See what he’s done to Indian cricket, be it test format, be it a T20 format or in 50-over format. I think he’s very important to Indian cricket in what he’s done, not just with a bat or ball, in the field as well. He’s, I think, one of the top all-rounders going around in world cricket. We in the dressing room know the value of Ravindra Jadeja. It’s not what happens outside the dressing room.”
Jadeja has been part of India’s team in all three formats for a over decade now. He was also the part of 2013 ICC Champions Trophy title-winning campaign.
Last year, Jadeja played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup glory. Jadeja has represented India in 80 Tests, taking 323 wickets and scoring 3,370.
Apart from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kolhi, he is the most experienced India player at the Champions Throphy.
