English champions Liverpool are still making every effort to sign Florian Wirtz despite knowing he might choose to stay in Germany.
Times have reported that the German international is deciding to either stay at Bayer Leverkusen or make a move to German champions Bayern Munich this summer.
The attacking midfielder won the Bundesliga title and German Cup with Leverkusen last season, finishing second in the domestic league table this time around.
Wirtz has shown great touch for the German club in the 2024-25 season, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists in 44 matches in all competitions.
Wirtz, 22, has a contract with Leverkusen until the 2027 summer. Just like
Liverpool, Bayern could offer him title-winning seasons ahead.
Wirtz plays primarily as an attacking midfielder, but can be used as a winger on either side.
Having made his Germany debut in 2021, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder has scored six goals in 29 outings. He had played for Germany U15, 16, 17 and 21 teams.
