Eoin Morgan, who is a former Kolkata Knight Riders player, feels that the three-time Indian Premier League winners are not bouncing back at the right time.
On Monday, the Kolkata Knight Riders lost to the Gujarat Titans by 39 runs at home. It was their fifth defeat of the IPL 2025 season.
Ajinkya Rahane replaced Shreyas Iyer as the KKR captain for the 2025 season. Iyer let KKR go for the Punjab Kings, who are doing well this season.
Morgan said to JioHotstar: “Kolkata Knight Riders have simply not bounced back as well as we would have liked them to. It’s always a good sign for a strong team with a lot of character, but they had the same failures they’ve shown throughout the tournament.”
With just six points in eight matches, KKR are failing to impact massively. They are four points behind fourth-placed the Punjab Kings.
Not to forget that in 2024, KKR became the IPL champions.
The former England captain was a part of KKR from 2011-13 and 2020-21.
He was known for his hard-hitting batting from the middle-order. Meanwhile, KKR will next face the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.
