Savy King, who is a well-known female footballer of Angel City, has undergone a successful heart surgery. She sustained an injury in a collision while facing the Utah Royals.
On Friday, the United States Under-20 defender got injured in the 74th minute in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
After getting a decent treatment on the pitch, King was taken off the pitch. The club then got to know about the heart abnormality, which made them push the 20-year-old to make it heal.
Angel City said: “She is now resting and recovering surrounded by her family, and her prognosis is excellent.”
To the fans and loved ones, King’s family made a statement too: “On behalf of our entire family, along with Savy, we have been so moved by the love and support from Angel City players, staff, fans, and community, as well as soccer fans across the country.
“We are blessed to share Savy is recovering well, and we are looking forward to having her home with us soon.”
The massive injury stopped the game for 10 minutes. However, Angel City won the game 2-0.
