Mohammed Siraj is one of those loyal cricketers who never wanted to leave Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The 31-year-old fast bowler made his IPL debut in 2018 for RCB.
Siraj was one of the top bowlers of Bengaluru from 2018 to 2024. During the mega auction, he was expecting RCB to get him back for the 2025 season.
However, Gujarat Titans paid 12.25 Crores and beat RCB for Siraj’s signatures.
Siraj did express his emotions back then as he was ready to play for Bengaluru at any cost.
On Wednesday, he met his former side Royal Challengers Bengaluru while representing Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium.
GT won the toss and picked to bowl first. Siraj, who has deep experience of playing at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, did take three crucial wickets and won the Player of the Match award.
Siraj’s three wickets were Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal and Liam Livingstone.
Not only did he take three crucial wickets but helped GT to get a decent target of 170 to chase.
Jos Buttler carried his good form, scoring an unbeaten 73 runs to help the away side win the game by eight wickets.
After helping his side collect two crucial points and end RCB’s two-match unbeaten run in the IPL 2025, Siraj said: “I was a little emotional, because I played here for seven years in the red jersey.”
“Now it’s a different colour. I was a little nervous and a little emotional, too. But as soon as I got the ball in my hand, I was full on.”
